MY *(LIVE)* THOUGHTS ON THE INAUGURATION
Fortunately, although I was at work, I had the opportunity to
watch the inauguration. The following comments are live as I write them so that
my thoughts and feelings are raw and genuine alongside with the present moment.
My recorded times are in Mountain Standard Time (MST).
9:32am—whoever is speaking right now is overly poetic and I
quite frankly don’t understand what he is saying. Something about lanterns? I
don’t know.
9:37am—why isn’t Donald smiling? I’d imagine this is
probably one of the most nerve racking moments of his life. But why aren’t him
and his wife like holding hands or something? But really, Donald hasn’t smiled
once yet.
9:43am—is this the mo-tab singing? If so, they are very
good. I wish I could sing that high….
9:49am—Sen. Charles Schumer just mentioned freedom of speech.
For some reason this bothers me considering how often Trump threatens people
who tweet things that aren’t in his favor… does he really want a free country?
9:52am—I like Sen. Charles Schumer’s speaking voice. He is a
very good public speaker.
9:53am—they’re now swearing in Pence… chills… I actually don’t
mind Pence. I think he’s a good dude.
9:55am—as I watch Obama shake Pence’s hand, I admire how gentlemen
like and professional he remains. I respect him for that reason.
9:56am—it is confirmed, it is the mo-tab.
10:00am—now swearing in Trump. Just saw the first smile. I
wish the camera angle would let me see Obama’s face and expressions. Maybe they
did that on purpose. I would.
10:01am—our president is now Donald J Trump.
10:02am—I hope he really does follow through with all these
promises he’s making right now.
10:03am—I love that he’s speaking highly of Obama. He called
them magnificent.
10:04am- “we are not only transferring power from one administration
to another, we are now giving the power to the people.”
10:05AM—I do like the idea of the people having more power. Too
bad that’s not what’s going to happen. Let’s get real.
10:07am—I wonder when we will see less drugs in our country.
10:10AM— AMERICA FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10:14am—“when we open out heart to patriotism, there is no
room for prejudice.”
10:15am—“it’s time to rid of politicians that are all talk
but no action,” “do not let anyone tell you that anything cannot be done.” I question
how much power and influence politicians REALLY have over decision making… or
are they puppets? There are a lot of things we don’t know. But then again,
Trump became the freaking POTUS, who’s to say what he can’t do.
10:18am—that was quite the finisher. Very powerful. Me gusto.
10:20am—how do the Rabbi’s keep their Kippas on their heads?
I can’t even get my beanie to stay on. This is a serious question.
10:25am—starting to tune out and think of all the homework I
have due tonight…
10:27am—Jackie is a great singer. What a wonderful opportunity
it would be to sing in the face of so many powerful and influential people.
10:29am—honestly, we all know the Rockefellers and
Rothschilds' run this whole damn country. If you don’t know those two last names,
do some research. You might be surprised what you find.
10:31am—I bet that helicopter is easily a $5 million
helicopter… do you think they provide wine?
10:32am—by the way, I work in the airline industry. I really
do love any machine that flies. It fascinates me.
10:33am—one of SkyWest’s main bases is in Palm Springs.
10:34am—Donald AND Obama walking together? SMILING? WHAT
10:35am—where do you think all these guys purchase their
long coats? Do you think they all go through the same person? They all look the
same.
10:35am—I really want to visit DC. I think I’m going to go
there within the next month. Will post about it on my blog, stay in tune for
updates.
10:37am—am I the only one who noticed that while Trump has
escorting Obama down the stairs, there were only two men with black guns
instead of white? Unplanned? Planned???
10:42a—no joke I just bought jeans like 3 days ago the same
color as that helicopter.
10:42am—I think I actually really want to go on a helicopter
ride now. Stay tuned for updates.
10:44am—I feel like those windshield wipers are relatively
small for that helicopter.
10:47am—I remember what it was like to leave my favorite job
at IHC in South Jordan to move to St. George. I held such an emotional attachment
to that job and the people that I worked with. I do wonder what the Obama’s are
feeling right now… leaving office after 8 years of the first black president.
After hundreds of years of torture against our black brothers and sisters, to have
a black commander in chief, what an incredible thing to note; what an
accomplishment.
So… what next?

I like your post, you where on the spot!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading it as I started looking at media that has unfolded as time has gone by
Kara the structure of your post as a play-by-play really made it entertaining to read and I definitely agree with you in your last statement about the emotions that must be running through Obama as he left on the helicopter. I can only imagine that 8 years in office as the POTUS feels like it drags on a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteOMG your post was very entertaining. 10:25 "starting to tune out and think of all the homework I have" that was funny. I have to agree with you when you said that Trump wasn't smiling i also caught that, he should be happy right? Nor did he hold his wife hand, interesting character that man has. Trump did speak highly of Obama that caught me off guard but it was very nice of him to do that.
